Scabiosa ‘Stellata’

These are mainly grown for the fabulous ‘ping-pong’ seed heads, but before they form the seed heads they also have the most delicate pale blue flower.

Sow undercover from September – October, pot on and plant out after the last frost. Can also be sown undercover again in early spring. These seeds need gentle heat to germinate, either a warm windowsill or a heat mat. Can also be sown in the spring. Harvest the seed heads when fully formed, and simply hang upside down to dry.
